Fever’s gone. The rashes have nearly disappeared. She’s been sleeping more than usual, drinking less milk, taking in more water and juices, and eating small frequent meals. Roseola has dramatically changed my baby’s routine and habits. But she’s a lot better now and well on the mend. The only cause of concern is if she will regain her appetite for milk, which was reduced to about 50%.
In view of all the circumstances, I’m thankful that she’s survived this mild infection without any complications. I was initially worried about febrile seizure, but the pediatrician assured us that it would be a rare occurrence if the baby’s parents did not have a history of seizure at all. G and I did not have it, so we heaved a sigh of relief with that comforting thought.
Nowadays Candice has been feeling cranky and very, very hungry every time she wakes up in the morning. I give her some comfort food + usual food + comfort food + usual food. I realize I’ve become like my mother or like the millions of mothers out there who’d do anything just to make their baby happy and comfortable. I’ve been super tired since last week. I’m lucky to have a loving, supportive, hardworking and patient husband who always comes to the rescue when things go crazy. (He gives me some days off too.)
I expect happier days and more smiles this week. Thanks for all your prayers and concern!
